Protester dies in south Yemen, 8 wounded


(Reuters) - A protester was killed by "random gunfire" as police tried to disperse an anti-government demonstration in southern Yemen, a local official said on Thursday.

"At least one person has been killed and there are eight others that were wounded by random gunfire," said the official who is a member of the municipal council, declining to be named.
