Amideast, on Sunday in Aden province, launched activate youth project launched by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project held with the cooperation of the Ministry of Endowment and Guidance and the Ministry of Youth and Sport and under the participation of local authorities in Aden, Abyan, Mareb, Amran and Sana’a.
The project, which will last for two years and at a cost of USD 3.5 million, included many sport, cultural and recreational activities.
The activities by the participated committees aim at accessing to young people to enhance awareness of good citizenship and that is through recreational and educational means which would enable youth to value collective work in addition to strengthen the role of religious moderate figures and its positive impact on the Yemeni youth.
“We always support youth in such project through training sessions. The training is significant for youth as to provide them with job opportunities,” said Abdul-Kareem al-Shaif, the Secretary General of Aden local council, in the launch ceremony at Mercure Hotel in Aden.
He, moreover, clarified that young people is the most important and big class in the society and which still face unemployment.
Foad al-Buraihi, the Manager of Endowment and Guidance in Aden province, verified the importance of cooperation between youth and preachers in order to fulfill good citizenship through this program.
He, furthermore, praised the idea of the project.
“The project also aims at providing youth clubs in the various provinces with some of the necessary equipment and the establishment of public and private partnership called the Commission to activate young people that will support the project activities,” said the Coordinator of the project, Ala’a Essam Hasan.
