Observed by: Mr. Alaa Isam

A southern traffic man was tortured to death in the Criminal Search detention center in the southern Yemeni province of Aden, last Wednesday, according to reports by human rights sources.

According to the sources, the traffic man, Hamdi Tawfik, from Mansoora district in Aden, had been detained when he took off his uniform, stepping on them and saying "these are not our clothes, and I don't want them."

It is thought that the incident comes after problems between the traffic man and his directors.

After his detention, he was tortured by the director of Aden Security Department, Abdullah Abdo Kiran, who is from northern Yemen.

The sources assured to the Aden News Agency that the traffic man died of his wounds in his detention center, last Monday.
